Cars in NYC

I own a BMW M3 (E36). I bought it a year ago because I wanted to get into race car driving. I haven’t taken any racing lessons yet because the day of my first scheduled lesson I had to go and fight a speeding ticket, can you believe it? And the driving school season is over. In the meantime I have been racking up parking tickets, had my car towed twice and this past weekend someone keyed (scratched the entire side of my car with their key, on purpose!) my car!

It could cost as much as $1K to repaint the side of the car. Why would anyone vandelize a car…needless to say I am very upset, angry and frustrated. As much as I want to keep my car its becoming very expensive. The next day I signed up for monthly indoor parking, that too is expensive. I don’t know what to do. On one hand I love driving and the freedom it offers. I love the instant response and gratification I receive from a fast car. I love being in an isolated environment when I know I have complete control. Its so much different from family life or running a business or even investing where you make a decision and have to wait, sometimes years to see if it was the right decision. Maybe this is what I like about fighting too?

I can’t imagine not being able to drive it, even if its only once a week. On the other hand I am coming to the realization that financially it might not be the wisest choice. I’m torn.

That’s sad. I’d hold on to the car (freedom) and show the person who scratched it that they cannot hold you down. Back in the early nineties when bass was popular, I had my car broken into more than once, once to steal the speakers, then to steal the radio and amplifier. Although it cost me a little money to replace my stuff, I came back bigger and louder each time. On the last occasion I drove past the thug and his homeboys who stole my stuff with music booming and his girl on the side. Do let them stop you ejovi!
